Description
We are seeking an exceptional Supervisory Nurse (GS14) to lead our 12bed Adult Intensive Care Unit and our new 3bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), scheduled to open in January 2027. This Nurse Manager will be instrumental in shaping the future of our critical care services, providing leadership across both high acuity environments as the Clinical Center advances its integrated adult and pediatric critical care model.
The Nurse Manager will oversee clinical operations, patient safety, and quality outcomes for both the Adult ICU and the new Pediatric ICU.

The NIH Clinical Research Center is located on a 300-acre college-like campus in Bethesda Maryland and is the hospital where the intramural research of the NIH’s 27 Institutes and Centers is conducted.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will bring 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience and 1–2 years of leadership experience in an acute care setting. Will possess prior experience leading adult ICU, PICU, or mixed clinical programs. Candidates should have demonstrated competency in nursing and operational leadership, quality and safety performance improvement, human resources and talent management. The role requires a leader with strong initiative, judgment, and decision-making ability. Outstanding leadership, communication, critical thinking, and conflict resolution skills are essential. BSN/MSN or MS in a related field preferred. Applicants must have an unrestricted license in a State, territory of the U.S., the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
